Posted on December 17, 2016 at 2:45 am

Starting to feel your living room is not as fresh as it once was, well a simple low cost revamp may be all you need.

The best way to bring your old walls back to life is with a simple lick of paint, just to freshen up those dull walls. Once the walls have been painted it is time to move onto the flooring area.

Purchasing a new carpet can be costly and unnecessary, a great way to brighten up or change the look of your current living space floor is to add a new rug to the area. Rugs come in a variety of designs so you can select the design that best suits your home and style. You can even buy extra-large rugs that can almost completely cover your entire floor area.

Whether you choose a funky design or a cosy shag-pile rug revamping your living space really is that simple without busting the wallet too much either.

Concrete indoors for your flooring

Posted on November 21, 2016 at 4:19 am

A new up and coming interior look for your kitchen or even hallway is a quirky flooring of concrete. Yes! concrete flooring is taking over by storm, polished concrete of course. This is a really reliable flooring solution.

Polished Concrete flooring is durable, lasting many years without the maintenance of other types of flooring such as wooden floorboards needing regular care or carpets wearing thin.

Another great reason to opt for this style of flooring is that it’s easy to clean, it doesn’t get those stubborn stains that carpets soak up, or chips and dent, laminate flooring can acquire. Simply mop and vacuum as regularly as needed, and it really doesn’t require any more maintenance.

Just remember once it is down it is a pretty permanent flooring choice. Getting it removed would require chiselling up the solid flooring.

Polished concrete is a unique look for your home, pricing can vary but is definitely not a budget flooring option.

Replacing your welcome mat

Posted on October 25, 2016 at 12:52 pm

A welcome mat is a nice feature in a home and it’s important to have it because it gives you a place to wipe your shoes before you come in. The entrance to a house can be the filthiest due to the amount of mud and dirt being picked up on a daily basis, and that’s why you’ll need to replace your welcome mat every few months. Welcome mats should be looked at as disposable because that’s what they are. With regular use during the winter, you may need to look at getting a new welcome mat in the spring or summer. It’s not necessarily that the mat will be worn out in this time, it’s mainly because of the bacteria nesting deep inside the fibres, and even a deep clean won’t completely remove this type of dirt. Be sure to get your welcome mat replaced every few months, after all, it’s nice to have a fresh entrance for your home.
