When you’re buying a carpet, you’re probably going to look at different factors before making a decision. You may look into price, colour and texture, but which of these is the most important?
Well, a comfortable carpet is important in every home, but it’s not usually too much of an issue in a corporate or a commercial environment. If you’re buying a carpet for your living room, then you will need feel it and test it out before you buy, but then colour has to be an important consideration too.
If you have magnolia walls then a carpet with a similar tone can be a good option, but marks can show up easily, and it could be wise to go a shade darker. These are two of the most important factors and whether you think a colour is more important than comfort or vice versa, you will more than likely have to consider both before you buy.

If you’ve got a lot of unused rooms in your home, a great idea is to convert one of them into a guest bedroom. In many
ways they are the same as a standard bedroom, but the aim of it is quite different.
With a guest bedroom, the aim should be to try and not over-personalise the room but still make it homely and inviting for your guests to enjoy their time in. Here are a few tips for a guest bedroom:
- Use neutral colours so that it is comfortable at all times.
- Don’t put any clutter in the room, try and keep it as basic as possible.
- It needs to be a king-sized bed so that it will be okay for both couples and single visitors.
- The room needs to be a decent size, and offer space for people to unpack and get comfortable.

One of the biggest impediments to owning and installing a carpet for many home owners, is how managing their upkeep is made infinitely more difficult when you have pets to be concerned about. This is doubly bad though, as carpets are the ideal flooring for your pets, as it reduces the risk of slipping and sliding which animals are more prone to do on hard flooring and tiles.
So this could leave you wondering how you’re supposed to find a solution to this. Luckily, there is clear evidence regarding this issue, both on how to keep your carpet in good condition with the complication of pet ownership, but also which type of carpet you should acquire in the first place.
Carpets can be made from a variety of materials, but while a wool carpet is generally considered to be the superior flooring, it is more prone to staining and damage than a synthetic fabric such as nylon, which can be cleaned easily and will be guaranteed to last a lot longer under the stress of animals running backwards and forwards on the floor.

Wood floors are a very popular option amongst most home owners, as the natural, wholesome feeling brought to the home by it is something which can’t really be given through other types of floors. That being said, there some things which you should keep in mind when cleaning your wood floor.
Treating them the same as you would treat a lino floor is definitely something you shouldn’t do, but there are certainly more similarities with that type of flooring and wooden ones than you’ll find with wood and carpet floors.
With wood, the primary means of cleaning will be water, but this can also cause damage do the surface of the floor (particularly if you’re using a cleaning detergent), therefore it is essential that you use a minimal amount of water. You should avoid using any cleaning detergent, but if you really need to, make sure that you use a brand which is neutral PH (not too acidic or alkaline), and heavily dilute that in water.

Carpets can truly make your home more pleasant to live in, but when left unclean, they can also cause health problems to you and your family. Pollutants from the carpets can make you allergic. According to medical records, there are thousands of hospital visits in a year from patients who have been exposed to the bio-pollutants from carpets.
What the Public Health Officials have to Say
According to the public health officials, your carpets must be cleaned properly by the experts. When you do the cleaning by yourself, you cannot remove all the deeply saturated mold, mildew and dirt that are in the carpet. So if you are living in Northampton, please check out the carpet cleaning services that will be done only by qualified professionals. Also, there are increasing numbers of medical officials who have a strong position on having carpets installed in public places. These health experts said that if the carpet cannot be cleaned by professionals, then the carpet should not be installed at all. The places where carpets can easily get dirty are places where humidity and moisture are high. (more…)
