Wood floors are a very popular option amongst most home owners, as the natural, wholesome feeling brought to the home by it is something which can’t really be given through other types of floors. That being said, there some things which you should keep in mind when cleaning your wood floor.
Treating them the same as you would treat a lino floor is definitely something you shouldn’t do, but there are certainly more similarities with that type of flooring and wooden ones than you’ll find with wood and carpet floors.
With wood, the primary means of cleaning will be water, but this can also cause damage do the surface of the floor (particularly if you’re using a cleaning detergent), therefore it is essential that you use a minimal amount of water. You should avoid using any cleaning detergent, but if you really need to, make sure that you use a brand which is neutral PH (not too acidic or alkaline), and heavily dilute that in water.
