Tips for Covering Scratches in Wood Flooring

Wood flooring gives a beautiful and classic look to your home but over time it is very common for it to get scratched. In darker woods is stands out more so you may want to look for ways of covering those scratches so they are less noticeable. One way to make scratches less noticeable is to rub walnuts over the scratches.

You can also can help cover the scratches with a bit of matching wood stain, water-based stains being easier to work with and clean up. There are also hardwood floor reviver products which can help restore floors to a nice finish. For deeper scratches there are also products such as Bondo which is a wood filler that can be sanded and stained.

If a very large area of flooring is pretty much covered in scratches, your most arduous option is sanding/buffing the floors and then re-staining or repainting them.
